I'm just hearing about Chesley. This information saddens my heart and spirit. Chesley (Chess, as I call him) is a good man and a hard worker. My prayers go out to him and his family. Let those that took time to post a comment on Facebook and here on The Real Chit be a testament of just a fraction of all the lives you have touched and the love we all share for you.
God speed my brother.
With my deepest respect to you "Chess",

Just an update on Steve. He will be removed off the ventilator tomorrow at 1200. The doctors and family decided that time for organ donation. His family is grateful for the vigil tomorrow. Steve is one of my good friends and a brother to all of us. He will be missed by all. Steve is one of the outstanding and professional officers I have ever worked with. My heart is broken and I will miss my brother. Del Barba

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel, Chesley was one of the greatest officer and person, I have known. I am deeply saddened, May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared comfort his family and loved ones in the days ahead.
